Position
Vida accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers' expertise and has a particular interest in Commercial law, Public Law and Regulatory. Vida is currently instructed as Junior Counsel on the Grenfell Tower Inquiry. She is also instructed on the Undercover Policing Inquiry.
Career
Prior to joining Chambers, Vida was at leading criminal set and represented clients in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal both as led junior and in her own right. She is adept at dealing with legally complex cases and cases involving the analysis of complex documentation. She has impressed judges with her advocacy and has been commended for her ability to "'cross examine in a pleasant yet commanding way" and deliver a 'first class closing speech". Vida has also represented clients in the First Tier (Special Educational Needs and Disability) Tribunal, Governing Board Hearings and Independent Appeals Panel.
In 2019, Vida was awarded the Rising Star UK Diversity Legal Award, which recognises exceptional lawyers at the beginning of their career who stand out both in terms of strong legal, business and clients skills. Vida is also committed to Pro Bono work. She previously volunteered with FRU, representing clients in the Social Security Tribunal. She is currently a volunteer for Advocate and in this capacity has successfully negotiated settlement agreements in claim of unfair dismissal and disability discrimination. Vida is also the founder of Inspiring Youth Achievement, registered charity in UK and Ghana, which aims to encourage, support and inspire young people to achieve their ambitions. She is also a Patron for Bruce Grove Youth Club in Tottenham and supports the Youth Club in its work to support young people in the community.
