Position

Michael Humphries specialises in all aspects of property development law, but is particularly well known for his infrastructure planning and compulsory purchase work, where he has acted in relation to some of the largest and most important projects in recent years. Michael is currently acting for the promoters of a number of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and his experience encompasses the energy, transport, water, wastewater, ports and airports sectors. Michael is the Treasurer of the National Infrastructure Planning Association and the General Editor of Bloomsbury’s National Infrastructure Planning Handbook. Michael is also a leading practitioner in compulsory purchase and compensation law and was a founder of the Compulsory Purchase Association, for which he has been recognised as an honorary (ie senior) member.
