Career

Called to the Bar in 1975, Charles Gabb has covered every type of serious offence both for the Defence and for the Crown Prosecution Service in the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal. He is also a specialist Jury Advocate. His current workload includes lengthy conspiracy trials which require careful case management and the ability to work with other agencies as a team player.

In addition, he is approved to receive instructions from H.M. Customs and Excise and has defended military personnel in Courts Martial hearings. He has a particular interest in Animal Litigation and successfully prosecuted in the Mary Chipperfield case concerning animal cruelty.

Charles Gabb has regular experience of defending in regulatory criminal matters. He defends nurses before the Nursing and midwifery Council on charges of misconduct and fitness to practice. He undertakes both liquor and gambling licensing applications and has been instructed on a number of appeals, he also represents taxi drivers who have had their Hackney Carriage Licenses rescinded. He has also represented businesses defending food hygiene prosecutions.

Charles has been instructed on a number of licence appeals. He is regularly instructed to represent taxi drivers who have had their Hackney Carriage Licences rescinded.

He also has experience of advising and representing clients on driving offences to ensure any offences or penalties are minimised.
