Position

Arthur accepts instructions both prosecuting and defending. He has experience beyond his call of serious and complex crime, having been instructed as junior alone in cases involving multi-million pound banking fraud, human trafficking and serious violence. He has also been instructed as a led junior in cases of conspiracy to supply large quantities of class A drugs, conspiracy to launder in excess of £100m, VAT fraud and firearms.

Arthur has completed secondments at the Financial Conduct Authority and Serious Fraud Office.

Arthur does not exclusively practise in crime. He defends applications for committal in contempt proceedings at the County Court, has experience advising on actions against the police and has conducted cases involving consumer and regulatory offences.

Before joining the Bar, Arthur worked as a criminal defence paralegal and police station representative for Lloyds PR and ITN Solicitors. As a paralegal, Arthur worked on a range of criminal matters and gained particular experience of the youth court, financial crime (including large scale MTIC frauds), confiscation and public order. He has experience assisting clients with charges arising from demonstrations, including the Million Mask March. At the police station, Arthur dealt with serious and complex cases, including terrorism offences investigated by S015 and the SECTU.

Arthur accepts instructions under the Public Access Scheme.
