Barrister practising predominantly in the fields of administrative and public law, human rights, education, employment, professional discipline and regulation, and data protection. He acts for individuals, companies, government, and associations across the private and public sectors alike.

Career

Called 2007; joined 11KBW in 2010; part-time visiting lecturer, City University 2008-09; first judicial assistant, UK Supreme Court 2009. He has appeared in courts and tribunals at all levels up to the Supreme Court. He is co-author of a number of leading practitioner texts including ‘The Protections for Religious Rights: Law and Practice’ (OUP) and has written regularly for a varied range of publications including The Times. Appointed counsel to the Crown in civil matters (A Panel); counsel to the Welsh Government (A Panel); and the Panel of Counsel for the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Queen’s College, Oxford (2005 Double 1st Hons French and Spanish). City University (2006 Graduate Diploma in Law, distinction); BVC (2007, outstanding). Recipient of the Sir Robert Megarry Award, the Buchanan Prize, a Lord Denning Scholarship, a Lord Bowen Scholarship and a Hardwicke Entrance Award from Lincoln’s Inn. Chosen by the Bar European Group as the Peter Duffy Human Rights Scholar for 2007.
