Career

Zac has a varied practice. He has been involved in substantial and complex litigation across commercial, data protection, employment, media, public, public international, procurement and sports law. He is often instructed in cases where those areas intersect. He has appeared in the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, every division of the High Court, the EAT, the CAT and a number of specialist first-tier tribunals. Recent and ongoing instructions include TikTok v Information Commissioner (appeal against monetary penalty notice); Taylor v Evans (multi-party High Court proceedings concerning the leak of a confidential report into antisemitism in the Labour Party); ECB v Yorkshire County Cricket Club (sports disciplinary proceedings arising out of Azeem Rafiq’s complaints of racism)  Serco v Secretary of State for Defence (high value procurement challenge); Newman v Southampton City Council (the first reported judgment concerning the rights of journalists to access the court file in care proceedings) and Allen & Conti v Rabobank (employment claim concerning the scope of the employer’s duty to indemnify employees and other issues, ongoing in the Commercial Court).
