Position

Barrister specialising in European Union law and competition law, with particular expertise in state aid, taxation, public procurement, and UK and EC competition law; advisory and representation work before English and European courts and competition and regulatory bodies. Current work includes several cases on state aid, financing of public infrastructure projects, consumer protection, banking, motor insurance, employment rights, betting systems, extradition. Notable cases include: Supreme Court: Louca v A German judicial authority (2009) Court of Appeal; Wilkinson v Churchill Insurance (2010), R v White (2010). ECJ: Churchill Insurance v Wilkinson (2001); Air Transport Association of America v Sec. of State for the environment (2011).
