Called to the Bar in 2015

Samantha joined the bar after spending 17 years as a police officer having achieved the rank of Detective Inspector. Her practice is in general crime with expertise in DNA cases.​

Samantha both prosecutes and defends in the Magistrates’, Youth and Crown Court.  She has accepted instructions in a wide range of cases from traffic matters to Sexual Offences and Drug Supply cases.  She has prosecuted for both the CPS and the National Probation Service.

Recent Cases Of Note R v NN (2017) : Kingston CC: Defended in DNA Dwelling Burglary case. Hung jury. CPS reviewed in light of no case to answer written argument and decided not to proceed to retrial R v CA (2017): Snaresbrook CC: Successfully defended in case of Possession of Bladed Article R v Bateman (2017): - Wood Green CC: Defended in a trial for Theft of a Dambusters logbook R v P (2017) : Successful Automatism Defence in Magistrates’ Court R v A (2016) : Successful Defence of Duress of Circumstances in Magistrates’ Court
