Donna has a busy Criminal Law practice
Career
Called to the Bar in 2021.
Donna began her legal career following an eight-year career in theatre and performance.
Prior to undertaking pupillage, Donna spent 3 years working for the National Probation Service as an officer in the Crown Court where she was responsible for risk management and pre-sentence analysis of offenders. In this role she gained extensive experience in client care and gained in depth knowledge of sentencing which she intends to utilise within her practice.
Alongside her BPTC studies, Donna also completed her LLM in family law where she represented clients in FHDRA, DRA, Fact Finding Hearing and Final Hearings. She also volunteered for a charity as an advocate for youths who were facing expulsion from school.
Cases of Note R v SB (2023) - Secured an acquittal for defendant charged with 'possession of a bladed article", whereby the defendant was found with a samurai sword. MS v GF (2023) - Represented a mother who was resisting allegations of parental alienation, resulting in no findings being found against her. R v DS (2022) - Secured a conviction in a case of ABH where dependant alleged excessive self-defence. R v SS (2022) - Secured acquittal for defendant accused of Controlling and Coercive Behaviour and Domestic Assault. R v BH (2022) - Secured acquittal for defendant accused of ABH. R v GL (2022) - Represented defendant accused of Drunk and Disorderly behaviours, resulting in the Crown offering no evidence. KL v AF (2022) - Private Family - Represented Father who was resisting application for non-molestation and occupation orders, following allegations of domestic abuse, resulting in no orders being made by the court.
