Career

Patricia is particularly noted for her expertise in homelessness and landlord and tenant in Chambers & Partners UK. She specialises in all aspects of housing, property and related public law, including homelessness, landlord and tenant and leasehold disputes.

Patricia is co-chair of the Housing Law Practitioners’ Association, and a member of the Bar Council’s Race Training Delivery Panel.

Patricia is a Fee Paid Judge in the Property Chamber and Employment Tribunal. She is also the author of Security of Tenure in the Social Housing Sector in England (2023).

Patricia’s recent cases include the following:

Security of tenure

Successfully representing a number of tenants in disputed succession claims, including non-statutory succession claims.

Successfully representing a tenant accused of unlawful subletting.

Securing a favourable outcome in a mandatory possession claim, by arguing the landlord’s reliance on the Metropolitan Police’s gangs’ database matrix amounted to racial discrimination.

Anti-social behaviour

Securing the withdrawal of committal proceedings against a number of disabled clients

Relationship breakdown

Getting proceedings against a non-owner spouse struck out
