Sophie Murray is a highly experienced Barrister who specialises in serious sex, child injury and mental health cases where she demonstrates considerable expertise together with a sensitive and pragmatic approach. She is regularly instructed as junior counsel in multi-handed murder, drugs and fraud cases receiving excellent feedback from senior counsel and members of the Bench. She often appears in the Court of Appeal and recently was successful in reducing a youth sentence of 4 years custody for rape, to a community order.

Sophie Murray is a CPS Level 4 Prosecutor and is on the CPS Panel for Rape and Serious Sexual Offences.

Sophie Murray has presented seminars on mental health sentencing regimes and has specialises in defending clients with autism. She is listed in the Legal 500, 2022, as a Leading Junior.
