Timothy Bowe specialises in child law and is a family law Recorder.

Position

Timothy regularly represents local authorities, parents and children in sensitive and complex public and private law cases, often appearing in the High Court and Appellate Courts where he has developed a strong reputation for forensic legal analysis and skilful advocacy.

He is well known for adopting a client focused approach to his cases and has an easy and affable style that enables him to work inclusively with both lay and professional clients.

Timothy has significant experience representing vulnerable parties and is accredited to question vulnerable adults and child witnesses.

Timothy has appeared in leading cases in both public and private law.  He is experienced in representing parties where there is a dispute over publicity in family proceedings and has recently appeared in two leading judgments addressing transparency in family justice: Griffiths v Tickle [2021] EWCA Civ 1882 and Tickle v Herefordshire County Council & Ors [2022] EWHC 1017 (Fam).

Timothy is an active participant on the Midland Circuit and often delivers seminars addressing developments in public and private law. He is a former secretary of the FLBA (West Midlands) and Head of Pupillage and Recruitment at St Ives Chambers.
