She has over 18 years’ experience in cases relating to children, and has specialised almost exclusively in that field since 2005.

Prior to that date she also dealt with criminal cases; a background that is of particular benefit in cases where alleged injury or other abuse of children has led to police involvement.

Lucy Hawkins advises and represents all the usual parties within public and private law proceedings. This includes representing parents with learning difficulties, in respect of whom the need for clarity and sensitivity takes on even greater significance. She also appears on behalf of individuals represented by the Official Solicitor.

She has experience of County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal matters, and has been led in family and criminal matters. Her experience includes cases involving:

She is well used to considering medical and psychological reports and cross-examining experts.
