For the past 18 years Basharat has practiced exclusively in the fields of Public and Private Law, establishing himself as a formidable advocate who will vigorously defend the interests of his clients from local authorities, parents and children.
Basharat regularly appears in complex Care proceedings involving serious neglect, sexual abuse and non-accidental injury and was involved as a junior in one of the longest running finding of fact hearing of sexual abuse in the High Court representing the interests of a vulnerable party.
Due to his own background and understanding of Indian subcontinent customs and norms, Basharat is regularly sought after and instructed on behalf of clients where there are sensitive issues of cultural and religious considerations within care proceedings. Basharat is able to use his knowledge to tease out the intricacies involved in his client’s cases.
