Career

Jennie Ferrario qualified as a Solicitor in 1996 and worked for Manchester Solicitors in Employment, Crime, Professional Misconduct and Regulatory and became a Higher Rights Advocate within 2 years of qualification. Miss Ferrario transferred to the Bar in 2007 and worked as General Counsel for The Environment Agency and Greater Manchester Police 2003 - 2017.

As General Counsel, Miss Ferrario prosecuted in jury trials, appeared before professional misconduct panels and appeal tribunals and advised senior personnel in matters of Regulatory, Criminal Investigations, Employment and Data Protection. Jennie Ferrario has sat on Mental Health tribunals, established and led steering groups in mental health and has taken an active role in collaborating with and delivering training to internal colleagues in the public sector including Human Resources, Professional Standards and Information Services teams.

Jennie Ferrario has a reputation for delivering a robust yet tribunal friendly style of advocacy and her ability to probe through cross examination has been commended by several Judges and Tribunals.

Upon joining Chambers in June 2017 Miss Ferrario came to our Criminal and Regulatory teams and through her tenacious work ethic very quickly developed a practice in these areas. She moved into our Employment and Regulatory teams at the beginning of June 2018 and has already received several instructions to represent claimants and respondents in a variety of matters including unfair dismissal, race, age, disability and sexual discrimination. Miss Ferrario is also advising in breach of contract claims, redundancy and TUPE. Miss Ferrario's skilful advisory and advocacy ability has been noted by instructing Solicitors, clients and Union Representatives and she has clearly made an extremely positive impact with her current employment cases.
