Career

Call: 2012

Adam is a specialist commercial and chancery barrister who now practises predominantly in cases involving land and property. However, he has significant experience in the full scope of commercial and chancery work including wills, trusts & probate, court of protection, and commercial disputes.

At the beginning of his career at the Bar, Adam spent a large proportion of his time advising and assisting a hub of Welsh Authorities in relation to public procurement contracts worth circa £300,000,000. This gave him early exposure to large-scale commercially focused work.

More recently his emphasis has been on complicated property law cases, including rights of way, adverse possession, mortgage fraud and a variety of other cases which loosely fall under the real estate umbrella.

Adam is regularly instructed in complicated matters which raise difficult or esoteric points of law. He has won numerous hotly contested trials in challenging cases involving a combination of detailed facts, significant cross-examination and nuanced legal argument. His notable cases include acting in a week-long trial in a farming matter which raised both property and agricultural law issues, appearing in the Court of Appeal in the very well-known proprietary estoppel case of Davies v Davies, winning on appeal in the High Court, winning a multi-day surveyor’s negligence claim with potentially national significance, and success in the FTT on a technical right of way point. He has also published articles and case notes for a variety of sources including LexisNexis and the Law Society’s Private Client magazine.

In addition, Adam is an experienced and successful mediator having trained with the London School of Mediation nearly a decade ago and having worked pro bono as a mediator for a charity for a number of years at the beginning of his mediation practice. He now offers his mediation services both in person and remotely.
