Jody specialises in divorce and financial remedy as well as wills and trusts work. He is frequently instructed on the most technical and complicated matrimonial cases, such as those involving trusts, family businesses or overseas elements.

He has been ranked for several years in Chambers UK and The Legal 500. Clients describe his case preparation as superb, as is his technical expertise.

Jody is skilled at taking on inheritance disputes, due to his rare crossover knowledge of both probate and divorce law. He knows the regulations inside out and is very knowledgeable about trusts. He is also full member of STEP.

Jody’s divorce and financial remedy practice focuses on the most high-value and intractable cases.

Jody is also a national level expert on the Child Support Act 1991. Unlike most family lawyers, he regularly appears in the First Tier Tribunal and has had several successful appeals in the Upper Tribunal. He accepts public access instructions in suitable child support cases. He has been described by clients as a technical wizard when it comes to child maintenance legislation.

Jody’s cross-over expertise means that he is also a popular choice for disputes between unmarried parties, which are generally resolved by a combination of the law of trusts, and Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.

Jody is a fully trained mediator.
