Position

Clinical negligence and personal injury, acting for claimants and defendants.

Notable cases include acting for the NHS in the Ian Paterson Breast Surgery Litigation, led by Michael de Navarro QC, and cases involving suicide of a psychiatric patient, obstetric brachial plexus injury, catastrophic bleeding during bronchoscopy procedure, bile leaks following partial liver resection and after laparoscopy, delayed diagnoses of cancer, failures to thrombolyse acute stroke, brain infection following ENT surgery, delayed diagnoses of spinal cord tumours and infections, nerve injury following regional nerve block anaesthesia, failure to diagnose PAPVD, delayed diagnosis of thoracic outlet syndrome with acute arm ischaemia, tricuspid valve replacement for candida endocarditis, and iatrogenic coronary artery dissection during angiography.

Career

Graduated from Oxford University in medicine in 2001; also with first-class honours degree in Physiological Sciences in 1998. Taught anatomy at Cambridge University. Research in intensive care, anatomy and plastic surgery. General surgical training in A&E, colorectal surgery, trauma and orthopaedics and cardiothoracic surgery. Attained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2004. Specialised in plastic surgery including hand surgery, trauma and cancer reconstruction, burns and cosmetic surgery. Called to the Bar in 2009.
