Naila Hadid

Position

Naila joined Thomas More Chambers in January 2024.

She has a busy mixed common law practice and welcomes instructions in all of Chambers’ practice areas.

Crime

Naila is a Level 1 CPS Prosecutor and also defends in all criminal matters appearing in the Crown Court, Youth Court, and Magistrates' Court.

Criminal Appeals

Naila welcomes instructions relating to advising on the merits of appeals, drafting grounds, and representing appellants at hearings.

Family

Naila regularly acts for both applicant and respondent parents in private law children matters.
She also represents clients in applications for non-molestation and occupation orders including those suffering and accused of perpetrating domestic abuse.

Naila has previously represented parents and local authorities in applications for care placement, and supervision orders..

Family (Finance)

Naila has represented clients at different stages of financial proceedings.

Civil Law

Naila is regularly instructed in a variety of small claims matters.

Sports/ regulatory law

Naila has extensive experience of Sports and Regulatory law from previous employments and welcomes instructions in all such matters.

Other Experience

Naila assisted Ms Clare Wade KC on the Domestic Homicide Sentencing Review (published in 2023) and her contribution was acknowledged in the report by Ms Wade KC.

Her previous employments include working for the IKWRO, a Women’s Rights Organisation where she provided support and advice to victims of ‘honour’ based violence, forced marriage, and domestic violence.

Naila also worked as the Safeguarding Case Officer for The Football Association (The FA), leading on safeguarding investigations for individuals involved in or seeking to be involved in football.

She worked as a County Court Advocate before moving to the General Dental Council (GDC) where she initially worked as a Registration Caseworker and then as a paralegal in their In-House Legal Presentation team.

Naila sits as an independent Chair on The FA Judicial Panels where she hears cases of misconduct and/or concerning aggravated misconduct (discrimination) charges.

In April 2024, Naila was appointed to the Sports Resolutions Safeguarding Panel.

Naila takes pride in continuing her voluntary work despite her busy practice and regularly contributes to community-based organisations. She was also recently appointed as a School Governor for a primary school.
