Hina Pattani

Position

Hina joined Thomas More Chambers in October 2023 as a twelve month pupil.
Since successfully completing pupillage, Hina has developed a busy mixed common law practice.

Background

Before coming to the Bar, Hina had a twenty three year career as a doctor. She practiced as a consultant in intensive care medicine with a special interest in weaning and long term ventilation at a London teaching hospital for fourteen of those years. She has expertise in medical education and works as an appraiser, coach and careers advisor for doctors. She has held a number of roles in medicine including being an educator for the Resuscitation Council (United Kingdom), Lead Assessor for the National Clinical Advisory Service of NHS Resolutions (now known as the NHS Litigation Authority) and Academic Lead for final medical examinations at King’s College London.

Civil Law

Hina regularly appears in the County Court and has experience of civil trial work in the fast and small claims tracks. She has a particular interest in personal injury and clinical negligence work. Her background as a doctor means that she can quickly navigate substantial medical evidence and establish trust and rapport with vulnerable clients.

Criminal Law

Hina appears regularly in the Magistrates, Youth and Crown Courts. She defends and prosecutes. Hina has experience in appearing at appeal hearings, drafting grounds of appeal and advising on the merits of appeal.

Family Law

Hina accepts instructions in a range of family matters. She appears regularly for both applicants and respondents in the Family Courts. She has experience in private children matters, non-molestation and occupation orders and financial remedies work.

Hina has a developing interest in regulatory and disciplinary law, inquests and enquiries and employment law.
