Career

Jeffrey Lamb was called to the Bar in October 1992.  Until 1999 he had a very successful practice in general common law and appeared in a large variety of tribunals.  Since 1999 he has practised exclusively in criminal law and has accumulated enormous experience in that field.  Jeffrey has defended and prosecuted in cases of the most serious gravity.  He has been involved in a large number of murder cases, serious frauds and serious sexual offences.  He has, for many years, been a Grade 4 prosecutor for the CPS and continues to be instructed by them in serious cases.

Throughout his career Jeffrey has written extensively for a variety of publications on a number of criminal law subjects and in 2003 he published a text book on Sexual Offences (published by LexisNexis).  Following the publication of that book he lectured on the subject on many occasions.  It also meant that he developed a niche practice in that field, while also continuing to both prosecute and defend in many trials involving allegations of a non-sexual matter.

Notable cases:

Defending a 19 year old man who kicked and stamped an 80 year old to death Defending a mentally unstable man who stabbed randomly four women in a car park Defending in a joint ‘Carousel fraud’ involving some £20 million Prosecuting a murder by a young man who, when arguing with his best friend, stabbed him to death Prosecuting a. multi-handed fraud by a group of travellers defrauding a pensioner of close to £1 million Prosecuting (and defending) numerous historical serious sexual offences.
