Career

Komal joined Chambers as a Third Six Pupil in November 2018, prior to starting her tenancy, she worked as a Mental Health Advocate representing vulnerable individuals detained under the Mental Health Act 1980. Komal prides herself on her advocacy, her friendly and approachable manner with both lay and professional clients and her ability to support vulnerable witnesses and defendants. 

Crime and Regulatory:Komal frequently appears on both the Magistrates' and Crown Court, defending and prosecuting across all areas of criminal practice. She has extensive experience of the Magistrates' and Youth Court trials. Komal enjoys working in cases involving young people and vulnerable clients. She hopes that her friendly and approachable manner helps both witnesses and/or defendants feel at ease with 

Komal also prosecutes on behalf of the National Probation Service, Local Authorities and Government agencies. As a Grade 1 CPS prosecutor, Komal regularly appears in the Crown Court on their behalf. 

Komal also regularly prosecutes matters on behalf of Local Authorities and other agencies, appearing in matters involving the Education Act, Environmental Law, Benefit Fraud, Licensing, Health and Safety and Trading Standards Prosecutions. 

Civil: Komal is available to accept instructions in small claims trials and MOJ stage 3 hearings. Komal also accepts instructions on all areas of Housing Law on behalf of Landlords and Tenants. 

Family:Komal practices in all areas of Family Law. In the Family Court Komal has a special interest in Ancillary Relief having previously worked in the family department at Blake Morgan. 

Mental Health:Komal has specialised in Mental Health Law, advising and representing both civil and restricted clients who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983. She has prepared cases and represented clients at their First-tier Tribunal; Hospital Managers hearings and CPA meetings.
