Career

Hayley joined Chambers as a criminal pupil in October 2023.

Previously a County Court Advocate for 18 months before commencing pupillage, Hayley developed her analytical and advocacy skills, conducting over 500 hearings in a successful, busy practice in the County Court across London and the South East.

As a Criminal Paralegal Hayley liaised with clients and Counsel as the first point of contact in a small defence firm. She drafted client care letters, constructed bail applications, and attended prison visits and court. This complimented her post-graduate studies in Criminology & Psychology.

Through previous roles with King’s Legal Clinic, Support Through Court and Citizens’ Advice Hayley has supported clients facing immigration problems, homelessness, bankruptcy and complex probate issues to negotiate and resolve.

Hayley hails from a Northern seaside town and spent 12 years working with children, young people and families in a community and school setting before pursuing a career at the Criminal Bar.  An avid theatre enthusiast Hayley is a trustee and organiser for an annual music and arts festival.
