Position
Kezia accepts instructions in all areas of public and private children law and in injunctive applications under the Family Law Act 1996.
Public Children Law:
Kezia is regularly instructed by local authorities and parents in care and adoption proceedings involving chronic neglect, emotional abuse, substance misuse, domestic abuse and parental alienation. Kezia has experience of representing parents in Family Drug and Alcohol Court proceedings.
Private Children Law:
Kezia has successfully conducted multiple Fact-Finding hearings concerning serious allegations of domestic and physical abuse and has experience of cases with an international element.
Career
Called to the Bar 2018; Inner Temple. Prior to pupillage, Kezia completed a Masters of Laws alongside the BPTC. This involved advising and representing parents on a pro-bono basis in private children law cases. In particular, Kezia assisted on issues of parental responsibility and Section 8 orders.
Kezia also acted as a mentor for Vocalise, a Gray’s Inn scheme which aims to bring the benefits of formal debating to prisons and taught inmates at both HMP Downview and HMP Pentonville.
