How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

In times of instability or crises, I closely monitor legal and regulatory issues to spot potential risks before they arise. For each legal contingency, I collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a management strategy focused on sustainable success. Cooperating with other stakeholders helps mitigate risks and supports our commercial and operational goals.

I emphasise meticulous and flexible planning, with clear procedures for escalation and open lines of communication, which are essential for evaluating and prioritising risks while ensuring legal compliance. My focus is to safeguard key assets, manage critical contracts, and maintain relationships with partners and customers. By fostering a culture of readiness, transparency, and adaptability, my legal strategy ensures organisational resilience and guides the company toward growth and innovation.

What are the main cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

Recently, I have been managing the legal aspects of our newly acquired portfolio of over 500 towers across the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Barbados, and the British Virgin Islands. With the latter two markets being new to our operations, I have been overseeing their integration and ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements. Additionally, I have spearheaded intricate contract negotiations with major operators in Barbados, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, securing favorable terms and mitigating potential risks to protect the company’s interests.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

I believe that artificial intelligence (AI) is set to profoundly transform the legal profession by automating routine tasks such as document review and legal research, which enhances both efficiency and accuracy. To stay abreast of these advancements, I actively engage with leading industry publications, attend pertinent conferences and webinars, and collaborate with technology experts. This collaboration helps integrate AI into our practice, enabling us to leverage these innovations for strategic advantage and operational excellence.
