How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?  

Reinforcing the bond with the team members and empowering them in order for them to have more visibility in the organisation, focusing on real priorities, keeping up to date, exchanging experiences with a network of general counsel,  ensuring that the business needs are addressed in a timely and efficient manner, by keeping in close contacts with the key stakeholders in order to design the legal work around customer need, although keeping the right balance between developing the business and protecting the key foundations. 

What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently?  

We have been involved in energy transition and corporate transactions. 

What role does the legal department play in promoting and ensuring corporate social responsibility in your organisation?  

The legal department plays a key role: we need to lead by example and set the pace to inspire other teams and functions. 

What do you see as the major legal challenges for businesses in Italy over the next five years, and how are you preparing to address them?  

Definitely energy transition, artificial intelligence and mastering legal prompting. With the team we are regularly working on the first topic and preparing for the second. Moreover, the regulatory environment is getting more complex. Another challenge will to be measured on KPIs and transforming the legal team approach from a business defence position to a driver for results. Managing all these challenges and having the right mindset will be the key factor.
