How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience? 

During periods of crisis or instability, we strive to be closer to the business, joining them in all significant decisions by providing them with all the relevant information and options available to make informed decisions. We collaborate with the business to take calculated risks that maintain the superiority of our products and our marketing and commercial strategies. Through these legal strategies, we are involved in all critical decisions, projects, innovations, and initiatives of the business, offering our expertise and legal opinion. 

How do you manage and motivate your legal team to ensure high performance and professional growth? 

I act more as a coach than a line manager for my team, encouraging them to engage with regional and global teams and to lead important initiatives. More importantly, I strive to provide them with a safe space to develop their talents, recognising both their big and small achievements. 

I am not looking for followers within my team; rather, I invite them to develop their full potential in service of the business and collaboratively leading the Unilever Nutrition LATAM Legal Team to become an internal and external legal reference.
