How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience? 

To safeguard covenants in finance and commercial agreements, that allow protection for the company in times where the cash flow, revenues and ability to pay become challenging. Also to engage in communication and early discussions with business partners, banks and the state demonstrating the need for concessions, waivers and tolerance around payment obligations.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments? 

Technology can lessen a commercial lawyer’s reliance on drafting by drafting the standard clauses for him so that such time and thinking is spent on negotiating and shaping more complicated ones addressing more complex and crucial issues.

At the same time, it can strengthen the lawyer’s focus on strategy by “taking care” of the more basic things, like drafting and research.
