Grupo Modelo is one of the largest and most significant breweries in Mexico, accounting for 63% of the local beer market. In addition to this, the company is responsible for some of the most recognisable beverage brands worldwide, including Modelo and Corona, and exports its products globally. Indeed, Corona is Mexico’s best-selling export beer. The Modelo legal department is a significant department within the company, containing over 100 individuals, and is led by vice president for legal and corporate affairs Pablo Jimenez Zorrilla. Having joined Modelo three years ago, Zorrilla had a great deal of previous experience at the top end of the corporate legal world, previously holding the position of general counsel at Cinépolis Corporation for four and a half years. Zorrilla’s experience is reflected throughout the team, representing a diverse set of competencies that are essential given their task of safeguarding the manufacture and distribution of a string of highly successful global products.
