Grupo Reforma, the second largest printed media company in Mexico and Latin America, has a legal team to contend with the extensive variety of corporate legal matters they deal with. The media company publishes 10 daily newspapers in five cities, including the leading newspapers in three of Mexico’s largest cities, Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara. The legal team has been integral to facilitating the paper’s daily circulation, overcoming a plethora of challenges that present themselves during the circulation of around 200,000 newspaper copies. In all headquarter cities, the legal team operates with a focus on contract negotiation, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and commercial litigation, leading the company through its key transactions. These skills are compounded with comprehensive knowledge in the media and telecoms sector, crisis management, international business transactions, institutional public and government relations. Created from the integration of two companies, Editora el Sol and Ediciones del Norte in 1922, some of the most significant work involve the team working on plans to expand further within the major Mexican cities.
