By introducing new features of the legal service system last year, the legal team’s efficiency and productivity have improved significantly. One significant achievement was the reduction of Service Level Agreements (SLA) by 50% compared to the previous year. This accomplishment demonstrates the ability to overcome challenges and improve efficiency, as well as the coordination of the whole legal team.
Based on your experience, what is the key to collaborating successfully with business partners?
As the Head of Legal at the Bank, collaborating with business partners is of utmost importance. Effective collaboration can significantly contribute to the success and smooth functioning of the bank’s operations. Among the key factors contributing to the success and smooth functioning of collaboration, the in-house lawyer’s consideration of “Flexibility and Adaptability” stands out. The legal landscape is constantly evolving, driven by changes in government policies, regulations, economic, and environmental conditions. The in-house lawyer’s ability to navigate the changing legal landscape is crucial for the bank’s success.
How do you motivate and manage the other members of your legal team well?
As a leader, it is essential to motivate and manage the other members of the legal team effectively. Over the years, I have gained valuable insights that have significantly contributed to my ability to motivate and manage my team effectively. By setting clear objectives, we provide a clear roadmap for success and empower our team members to stay focused and motivated.
Encouraging open dialogue and exchange of ideas enables us to leverage the collective expertise of our team. Regular team meetings, cross-functional collaboration, and feedback sessions help to foster a sense of camaraderie and promote shared ownership of work.
Investing in training and professional development for our team members is crucial. And, finally, recognising and rewarding achievements is a powerful motivator.
