The in-house legal team at Heineken Mexico combines the skills and talents of 57 lawyers, a paralegal and a trainee, and is led by Alberto Páez Lobeira, legal director. The team is divided into commercial, operations, compliance and corporate secretary departments each having its own legal team subdivided from the whole group based up each member’s speciality. The team has worked on negotiations of sponsorships agreements with Formula 1 and other sports teams including soccer and basketball as well as major music events such as Pa’l Norte, Vive Latino and EDC. It has also led on the incorporation of a non-profit entity, Fundación Heineken México, through which it managed donations to different assistance programs and entities. The team also worked on the legal framework of the building and operational project of the new Brewery in Meoqui, Chihuauha, the largest brewery of Heineken México, with a production capacity of 5 million HL. In terms of corporate matters, the team worked on different joint ventures and M&A agreements.
