The legal team at Mexico of Marsh & McLennan Companies (Marsh) is recognised for the scope of its legal skill and commercial acumen. It has facilitated the announced merger between Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group and Marsh in the form of Marsh-JLT Specialty, a new investment arm of the company particularly in the energy, credit, maritime, professional and private equity M&A (PEMA), construction and aerospace businesses sectors. The team has worked along with the global legal division to facilitate the merger in Mexico and around the world. The team also provided guidance on the roll out in Mexico of Marsh’s new cloud based digital brokerage platform for the insurance market called Bluestream. Additionally, the team consulted on the Mexican legal implications of Marsh and IBM’s joint venture creating a hyper-ledger fabric open source blockchain platform for insurance certification.
