Could you please share the most significant cases or transactions in the LATAM region that you or your legal team have recently been involved in?

We were involved in the acquisition of an education business in colombia, JV agreement with local booksellers in Mexico and Colombia, JV agreement between our colombian education business and BIU university in Miami.

What strategies do you employ to ensure your legal advice is effectively aligned with the unique regulatory environments and cultural nuances of different LATAM countries?

We have in-house lawyers in most of the countries and we work together with external counsel in long-term relationships to ensure the knowledge of the business and implications.

What are your organisations plans in the LATAM region over the next 12 months and how will your legal expertise help to achieve these plans?

We plan to expand provided that the economic and political environment improves in the region.

What specific challenges have you encountered when managing legal issues related to Latin American markets from a European perspective, and how has your team addressed these challenges?

There is a different culture and way to manage legal matters. The language could be similar to Spain but legal matters differ. Most of the time we tend to think that Latam is one country, and all legal matters are the same in the region, but that is hardly the case. Latam is a continent with significant local differences among its individual countries. In my view, most of the countries need to improve in terms of legal security and clarity, especially in matters related to tax and judicial conflicts.
