LATAM countries your role covers: Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, and Peru

Could you please share the most significant cases or transactions in the LATAM region that you or your legal team have recently been involved in?

Rover’s Legal Team has been extensively involved in tenders for PPP projects in Latin America, providing advisory support for projects that have already been awarded, particularly concerning contracts with financial entities. Additionally, the Rover Legal Team participates in litigation and arbitration proceedings related to the execution of construction projects in Peru and Colombia. We have also engaged in ICC arbitration proceedings in several cases concerning construction contracts executed in Colombia.

What strategies do you employ to ensure your legal advice is effectively aligned with the unique regulatory environments and cultural nuances of different LATAM countries?

To enhance legal support, Rover has recruited in-house lawyers in countries where we expect to grow, as we believe that in-house counsel can provide valuable advice and dedicated service to the Company. Additionally, Rover seeks guidance from specialised law firms on specific matters to increase our value in countries where our activities are just beginning.

What are your organisations plans in the LATAM region over the next 12 months and how will your legal expertise help to achieve these plans?

Rover has recently entered into strategic agreements with local companies to expand in Latin America. We are participating in various consortiums to prepare competitive bids for different PPP projects.

What specific challenges have you encountered when managing legal issues related to Latin American markets from a European perspective, and how has your team addressed these challenges?

Rover has an enthusiastic team of lawyers who are known for their ability to adapt easily to international environments. The primary challenge we face is gaining a thorough understanding of the legislation and regulations governing construction contracts. We have overcome these difficulties by engaging reputable law firms to provide us with the necessary support.
