What are your organisations plans in the LATAM region over the next 12 months and how will your legal expertise help to achieve these plans?

Latin America is a key region for Viridien, contributing over 10% of our global revenue. We have several strategic projects planned in the region over the next 12 months, with a particular focus on Brazil, where we anticipate significant business growth. Due to our ongoing activities, we have established entities in various countries to support our operations effectively.

My role will be critical in ensuring these projects are executed optimally for the Group, fully compliant with local regulations and Viridien’s internal principles. Understanding the legal constraints, accurately assessing risks, and negotiating contracts effectively are essential to the success of these projects. The legal expertise of my local team, combined with my support and coordination, will help mitigate risks and navigate complex regulatory frameworks, ensuring smooth project implementation across Latin America.

What specific challenges have you encountered when managing legal issues related to Latin American markets from a European perspective, and how has your team addressed these challenges

When managing legal issues related to Latin American markets from a European perspective, one of the main challenges I’ve encountered is the complex and diverse regulatory and legislative landscape across the region. My educational and professional background, with experience in Europe, North and Latin America, has given me a more globalized approach, allowing me to navigate these complexities more effectively. Additionally, my fluency in multiple languages facilitates smoother communication and collaboration across regions. Even though I am currently based in Europe, I closely monitor legal developments in Latin America that may impact Viridien’s business. To address these challenges, I rely heavily on the support of local lawyers within my team who provide valuable insights and ensure compliance with the specific legal frameworks of each country.
