What are the most significant cases or transactions that you have been involved in over the past year?
Firstly, supporting the legal entity name change project for Thailand. In July 2022, Haleon launches as an independent company 100% focused on consumer health, completing its demerger from GSK. Haleon is one of the biggest consumer healthcare companies in the world with portfolio leading brands such as Panadol, Sensodyne, Voltaren.
As part of the separation and demerger, various legal entities within Haleon groups are undergoing legal entity name change to change the legal entity name to Haleon. I was leading the legal workstream in the cross functional project team for the name change of the Thailand legal entity, and assisted in ensuring timely approval is secured for the new name and successfully registered and effected the new legal entity name for Thailand with Thailand Business registrar authority. This enabled smooth transition activities and ther functional changes for Haleon Thailand to successfully operate under Haleon legal entity name.
Secondly, simplification of internal approval process for consumer promotion activities for Vietnam. As part of cross functional project with the objective to simplify the internal approval process for consumer promotion activities whilst ensuring proper governance and appropriate review is still being done, I partnered with key stakeholders to identify the pain-points and to identify the solutions (including creation and training on the use of checklist which my business stakeholders can use to self-identify any key issues with their proposed consumer promotion activity), to achieve the stated objective.
What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about, and why?
I am passionate about how Legal can support Growth of the business, without compromising to control risk and compliance to ensure Growth is sustainable. However, passion isn’t the only element to consider when looking to specialise in our legal career to fit a particular niche. I am still in the learning curve to find a way of connecting passion with purpose, of joining what I am interested in doing with something significant.
