Jessica has over 25 years of legal experience.  She is currently Uber’s Director of Payments Legal, covering payments-related matters for the Americas.  Jessica began her legal career as a corporate associate at Cleary Gottlieb in New York City where she worked on corporate transactions (M&A, securities offerings and project financings), with a focus on Latin America.  She then went in-house at ANN INC. (formerly AnnTaylor Stores Corporation), where as the Associate General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and the acting General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, she spent over 8 years working on general corporate matters, including SEC and compliance work, trademarks, a variety of commercial agreements and employment matters.

Jessica’s payments experience comes primarily from her role as General Counsel of JPay , a technology company based in Miramar, FL servicing the correctional industry.  JPay is a licensed money service business offering payment services to friends and family of inmates in correctional facilities throughout the U.S.  At JPay, Jessica managed an AML compliance team and ensured the company maintained its money transmitter licenses in the 49 states where the company was licensed.

Jessica obtained her undergraduate degree from U.C. Berkeley and JD from Harvard Law.  She is a Bay Area native who now resides in Miami Beach with her family.  Jessica loves to travel, ski and swim.
