During periods of instability or crises, the legal team must be in close contact with key business leaders to understand real-time facts and provide a source of stability through legal guidance and advice. This aligns with the overarching legal strategy to collaborate closely with business leaders so legal response can be proactive rather than reactive. Integrating the legal team as part of a holistic business strategy rather than a silo is critical to general strategy, and to emergencies in particular.

Because my focus is in the area of energy, the main trends affecting my work now are the changing priorities of federal regulators and market dynamics.

As we move into 2025, our legal team is guided by a continued goal of integrated, collaborative advice for our business partners as we adjust to the changing political and regulatory landscape. We aim to provide an accurate assessment of risks to foster healthy growth of the company within a culture of compliance and safety.
