Lucía Martin Méndez

Lucía Martin Méndez is the Senior Legal and Contracts Manager at MROH, a distinguished group that owns prominent companies in the aerospace sector, including Aeroman and TechOps MX. These companies are industry leaders in providing world-class maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to major commercial airlines in the United States. With over 11 years of experience, Lucía has honed her expertise in corporate law, contract drafting and negotiation, M&A transactions, real estate, and the aviation industry. She is authorised to practice law in both Spain and El Salvador and is also licensed as a public notary in El Salvador.

In her current role at MROH, Lucía has been integral to the group’s major M&A transactions, corporate restructuring, redomiciliations, and large transnational refinancing deals. Under the leadership of the group’s legal vice president, she has played a pivotal role in establishing and growing MROH’s legal department, now overseeing a team of seven lawyers. Lucía is responsible for the operational management of the legal team and addressing all legal matters, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing counsel on corporate and contractual issues.

She was also instrumental in implementing IntelAgree, a contract lifecycle management software that leverages artificial intelligence to track and identify clauses within agreements, centralise a clause library, conduct searches, and automate reminders for renewals and expirations. This innovation has significantly enhanced the team’s efficiency in managing contracts. Under her leadership, the legal team has been nominated three times for Best Corporate Department by the Salvadoran law and business magazine Derecho y Negocios.

Lucía began her academic journey by earning her law degree at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, where she also completed minors in International Business Law and International Law Studies. She then moved to Madrid, where she obtained a dual postgraduate degree in corporate and business law from the Instituto de Empresa.

Her professional career began at the Clifford Chance office in Madrid, one of the most prestigious English law firms, where she worked for three years in the corporate and real estate departments. During this time, Lucía contributed to significant national and international transactions, particularly in mergers and acquisitions and loan portfolios. After returning to El Salvador, she joined the corporate law department at Consortium Legal, where she spent three years further expanding her expertise in Salvadoran corporate law, business law, contract negotiation, and M&A transactions before joining MROH.
