Career biography
Piia Vuoti is a highly accomplished legal professional with a Master of Laws degree earned in 2001 and training on the bench in 2005. She has built a distinguished career in corporate law, financial regulation, and governance, holding key legal and advisory roles across the financial sector.
She has served as a senior advisor at the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK), where she played a crucial role in national and EU-level legislative projects, particularly in corporate law. Her expertise deepened through her role as senior legal counsel at Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company, where she provided strategic legal guidance within the financial sector.
Her leadership capabilities led her to serve as general counsel at Veritas Pension Insurance Company, Alisa Bank, and currently at Elo. Throughout her career, she has been an integral member of management teams and has served as secretary of the board in both a listed bank and a pension company.
With extensive expertise in company law, corporate governance, securities market regulation, and financial regulation, she has a deep understanding of commercial contracts, corporate transactions, data protection laws, anti-money laundering (AML), and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations. She has successfully developed and led legal, compliance, and corporate social responsibility functions while strengthening internal control processes within various organisations.
With years of experience in the financial sector, she continues to contribute to the development of corporate governance and regulatory frameworks, ensuring that organisations navigate complex legal landscapes while upholding sustainable and responsible business practices.
