The Peru-based Kimberly-Clark legal team has taken a leading role in strengthening the compliance culture in the organisation at Andean level. It has also been responsible for a number of large scale savings, with the financial objective of saving US$9m, through successful management of projects and providing highly effective legal and corporate affairs solutions. The team has been directly responsible for a 50% reduction of the annual budget for outside counsels by assuming more internal functions that generate significant value. Milagros Gómez Sánchez Cannani led the Kimberly-Clark legal team for the Andean region from 2015-2017, and was integral to the Peruvian legal department being recognised as a strategic business partner that continues to generate value to this day.
