The Swiss office hosts the EMEA based portion of the Intellectual Property function for TE Connectivity, with the legal team playing a critical role in executing the company’s strategy. Driscoll Deke Nina, vice president, chief counsel intellectual property and general counsel EMEA region says the team’s value proposition ‘emphasises the department’s role in enabling business growth and protecting revenue and profit margins’. In the past two years the legal team has increased familiarity with the business and technology of TE: ‘The realisation of the contributions that can be made by the team, beyond providing excellent legal services, has increased and investment made in business management and leadership training has increased’, says Deke Nina. The team actively advise the business on innovative ways to both help grow the intellectual property portfolio while protecting rights to valuable assets. To tackle the growing importance of global IP laws, the TE Connectivity legal team has recently formalised mini-MBA and Law Leadership Network programs.
