Operating as a subsidiary of Unilever, Unilever España manufactures and distributes fast-moving consumer goods such as food, home and personal products, with well-known brands such as Dove, Axe, Lipton and Mimosin. The Spanish legal team is made up of two lawyers and is led by long-standing general counsel, Mercedes Lara who has been with Unilever for nine years. Lara manages the team to deal with matters involving commercial law, competition law and intellectual property. The legal team has helped Unilever in acquiring toothpaste brands Fluocaril and Parogencyl from P&G, brands that are primarily sold in France and Spain and help ensure the company maintains a leading position in oral care within Spanish pharmacy channels.
