Cyprus Airways was the flag carrier airline of Cyprus. It was established in September 1947 and ceased operations in January 2015. In July 2016, Charlie Airlines acquired the rights to use the Cyprus Airways trademarks and brand for 10 years for the sum of €2.04m.
The legal team of Cyprus Airways had contributed significantly to the business by providing advice on a number of key company milestones.
The team has mainly been focusing on compliance with the international and European aspects of aviation law, as well as providing internal training to colleagues on data protection and coordinating corporate compliance with GDPR.
