Legal affairs are given a high priority by the business, and a notable figure within the team is company secretary Ike Andriani, known to be an outstanding legal operator who was formerly a senior associate with Jakarta-based legal firm Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo before moving in-house as a legal counsel, notably with Garuda Indonesia. Joining her in the legal function of the company is senior counsel Ervin Pakpahan, an expert in the tobacco field who formerly worked in-house for Sampoerna’s parent company Philip Morris International.
