This team is led by Rodrigo Medina, senior legal and compliance director for Latin America, and consists of 17 lawyers, five compliance professionals and three support staff. In the last year, the team has worked on elements of the purchase and integration of Covidien, a US$42bn acquisition with 40,000 employees globally. It has also worked on the divestiture of Medtronic’s patient recovery business to Cardinal Health, a US$4.5bn sale globally, and provided support to the development and deployment of new and disruptive business models within the integrated health solutions business unit and the value-based healthcare concept in the region.
