Paz Lamas Beiner is a diversified lawyer with extensive experience in banking and financing areas, corporate law, bilateral and syndicated loans, debt restructuring, corporate finance, capital markets, NDA’s, international financing transactions and M&As. Her first major in-house role began in 2002 at Scotiabank where she spent over eight years. She spent a year at Banco de Credito e Inversiones as senior legal counsel before joining Banco Itaú Chile in 2012 as a senior corporate lawyer. Following the merger of Banco Itaú and Corpbanca, creating Itaú Corpbanca, she assumed her current position of manager in international corporate area in 2016. Lamas has a diversified role requiring astute business nous and a high level of attention to detail. She has been a key play in a number of agreements such as loans and revolving credit facilities worth millions with VTR, the Chilean telecommunications company, as well as significant debt restructuring agreements and credit transactions with other large Chilean companies. When asked to share the highlight of her career, Lamas says ‘the ability to develop technical and innovative solutions in the face of complex problems, applying my experience to positively impact the bank, hands-on collaboration and to work closely with the bank’s commercial area’, as just some highpoints. She is also commended for her use of technology to improve and generate value in Itaú Corpbanca’s banking products.
