Felipe Romo Andrade, legal counsel for Chile, Peru and Ecuador, began working at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 2009 taking on the functions of legal counsel for Chile and added the responsibilities of the additional jurisdictions in 2011. He is an exceptional negotiator, with experience handling contracts across different industries and in different jurisdictions, on a regional basis. He highlights that he has, ‘negotiated a lot of contracts in different industries, and also implemented the anticorruption prevention model at Latin America level in eight countries with the manager of compliance. I have had important growth in these years due to my participation in important negotiations of commercial agreements for the region’. He has helped to achieve a corporate culture in the area of legal and compliance. The most important negotiations include Interbank Peru contracts for IT services, the outsourcing of Banco Financiero del Peru and different contracts in BPO and IT for various Chilean banks. Romo highlights that ‘since joining TCS, I have focused on improving the order of the contracts, respecting the corporate guidelines and legal processes to avoid business risks. Today, this means there is a legal department that is active and efficient, and known throughout the organisation as a support and help area’.
