Private equity group Astorg possesses a legal team which punches above its weight in support of the group’s objectives. The team is led by general counsel Sophie Saden, who has been with the company for approximately 17 years and thus brings an unparalleled level of expertise to her role. Saden emphasised the extremely proactive culture of the team in response to its demanding workload: ‘We are very busy as we handle all legal, corporate, fund and regulatory issues. Our last major achievement, on top of participating in each deal our funds make, is the fund raising of our last Luxembourg special limited partnership which gathered over €4bn’. Currently three in size, the Astorg team is planning on expanding over the next few months.
